Biography
Richard La Motte is an American costume designer and production designer. Born on 27 July 1943 in Los Angeles, California, he began working in the film industry in 1966 as a costumer at 20th Century Fox studios. He later became a costume designer, with early credits including The Wind and the Lion (1975).
He is known for his work as costume designer on The Goonies (1985), Rambo III (1988), Gods and Generals (2003) and other films, and served as military costume advisor on The Last of the Mohicans (1992). La Motte has also worked as a technical advisor on productions including The Pacific (2010) and Pearl Harbor (2001). A US Marine Corps veteran, he is the author of the book Costume Design 101.
