Biography
Richard Laxton is a British film and television director. Born in London on 5 July 1967, he began his career with the short film I Bet It Will Rain (1992) and subsequently directed numerous television episodes, including work on Lovejoy (1994) and all 25 episodes of the sitcom Him & Her (2010–2013).
Laxton’s feature film credits include Life and Lyrics (2006), Grow Your Own (2007), An Englishman in New York (2009) and Effie Gray (2014). His television work also encompasses Burton and Taylor (2013), River (2015), Mrs Wilson (2018) and The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe (2022). He has received a BAFTA Television Award for Best Sitcom for Him & Her.
