Biography
Richard Woods (1923–2001) was an American actor known for roles in film, television and theatre. He appeared as Mayor Dale Levander in the Coen brothers' Miller's Crossing (1990), as a board member in The Hudsucker Proxy (1994), as Reverend Morgan in In & Out (1997) and as a suit in I.Q. (1994).
Woods had a substantial stage career, performing in numerous Broadway productions including revivals of You Can't Take It With You (1983) and Deathtrap (1978). He received the 1975 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actor in a Principal Role in a Musical for his performance in Robert & Elizabeth in Chicago. His television credits include an episode of The Cosby Show (1990) as Steve Parnell and appearances in soap operas such as Ryan's Hope.
