Biography
Ricky Blitt is a Canadian screenwriter, director and producer. Raised in Côte Saint-Luc, Quebec, he graduated from McGill University and the American Film Institute Conservatory. His older brother is illustrator Barry Blitt. He has been based in Los Angeles since 1994 and owns the production company Candy Bar Productions.
Blitt wrote for early television series including The Jeff Foxworthy Show. He was one of the original writers on the animated series Family Guy (1999) and later became a producer. He wrote the screenplay for The Ringer (2005) and created the sitcoms The Winner (2007) and Romantically Challenged (2010). His credits include writing on Movie 43 (2013) and co-writing Dear Santa (2024). He directed Hit by Lightning (2014) and received a Perspectives of the Media award for his work on The Ringer.
