Biography
Rob Sweeney is an American cinematographer. He graduated from Trinity College in 1976 with a degree in philosophy and religious studies, and began his career in the camera department on films including Chopping Mall (1986), Barfly (1987) and Stand and Deliver (1988).
He progressed to first assistant camera on Wild at Heart (1990), Hero (1992) and The River Wild (1994), and later worked as a camera operator on Bound (1996). Sweeney won the Cinematography Award at the Sundance Film Festival for Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day. His credits as director of photography include the finale of the HBO series Six Feet Under (2005), six seasons of Entourage, and black-ish (2014–2022), on which he also directed an episode.
