Biography

Robert Leadam Eddison, OBE (10 June 1908 – 14 December 1991) was an English actor. He appeared as the Grail Knight in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) and as the ferryman in the The Storyteller episode "The Luck Child" (1988).

Eddison had a long career in classical theatre, performing Shakespeare and works by Ibsen, Chekhov and Sophocles. He was noted for roles including Hamlet at the Old Vic and King Lear on the New York stage. His film appearances were limited and included Vice Versa (1948) and American Friends (1991). He also worked extensively in BBC radio drama.
