Biography
Robert James-Collier is a British actor. Born on 23 September 1976 in Greater Manchester, he studied business at the University of Huddersfield and marketing at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology before entering the profession.
With no prior acting experience, he began after filling in for a friend on a film shoot and then taking classes. He is known for playing Liam Connor in the soap opera Coronation Street (2006–2008) and Thomas Barrow in the series Downton Abbey (2010–2015) and its feature films, including Downton Abbey (2019), Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) and Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025). Other credits include The Ritual (2017).
