Biography

Robert F. Newmyer was an American film producer. With Jeffrey Silver, he founded Outlaw Productions in 1987. Their first film was sex, lies, and videotape (1989), directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Newmyer produced The Santa Clause (1994) and its 2002 sequel, Training Day (2001), National Security (2003) and Breach (2007). Earlier he held positions at Columbia Pictures, including vice president of production and acquisitions.

Born in Washington, D.C. in 1956, Newmyer died in Toronto in 2005 while working on Breach.
