Biography
Robert Pittack (also credited as Robert W. Pittack and similar variants) was an American cinematographer. He was born on 19 September 1899 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and died on 5 May 1976 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.
Pittack began his career in the early 1930s as a camera operator on feature films including She Done Him Wrong (1933). He later worked as director of photography on numerous films and television series. He is best known for serving as director of photography on twenty episodes of the anthology series The Twilight Zone (1959) between 1962 and 1964.
Pittack received three Primetime Emmy nominations for his cinematography, for episodes of Private Secretary (1956), General Electric Theater (1957) and The Twilight Zone (1963). He was the younger brother of silent film actress Wanda Hawley.
