Biography

Robert Urquhart was a Scottish character actor who worked in film, television and on stage. He was born in Ullapool and educated at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His stage debut came in 1947 and his first film role in You're Only Young Twice (1952).

He is known for his performance as Paul Krempe in The Curse of Frankenstein (1957). Other film credits include Knights of the Round Table (1953), 55 Days at Peking (1963), Dunkirk (1958) and The Dogs of War (1980). On television he appeared in series such as The Avengers, The Saint, Yes Minister and The Professionals. He played the Headmaster in the 1982 television film P'tang, Yang, Kipperbang.

Urquhart died in Edinburgh in 1995.
