Biography
Roger Imhof, also credited as Frederick Roger Imhof, was an American actor. He began his career as a circus clown with the Mills Orton Circus and as an Irish comic, later touring in vaudeville and burlesque from the mid-1890s to around 1930. He also wrote sketches and songs, and appeared in a Broadway play in 1923.
Imhof transitioned to film acting in the early 1930s and appeared in over fifty productions through 1944, frequently in supporting character roles. His credits include Judge Priest (1934) as Billy Gaynor, San Francisco (1936), Drums Along the Mohawk (1939) as Gen. Nicholas Herkimer, The Grapes of Wrath (1940) as Thomas, Man Hunt (1941) as Captain Jensen and This Gun for Hire (1942) as Senator Burnett. He often worked with director John Ford and comedian Will Rogers.
He was married to the performer Marcel Corinne (later Marcelle Imhof) from 1913 until his death. Imhof died on 15 April 1958 in Hollywood, California.
