Biography
Romeo Diaz (also credited as Romeo Díaz, Daai Lok Man, Tai Lok-man and others) is a Hong Kong composer, record producer and musician of Filipino descent. Born in Hong Kong in 1948 or 1949, he began his career in the 1960s as a member of the band Danny Diaz & The Checkmates alongside his brothers.
He later composed scores for numerous Hong Kong films, often in collaboration with directors including Tsui Hark and Ching Siu-tung, and musician James Wong. His credits include A Chinese Ghost Story (1987), Once Upon a Time in China (1991), A Chinese Ghost Story II (1990), Bullet in the Head (1990) and City Hunter (1993). Diaz has received the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Original Film Score on three occasions.
