Biography
Ron Masak (1936–2022) was an American actor. Born in Chicago, he began his screen career in 1960 with a role as the Harmonica Man in the The Twilight Zone episode 'The Purple Testament'. He appeared in numerous television series including Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Police Story and Webster.
Masak was best known for playing Sheriff Mort Metzger in the final eight seasons of Murder, She Wrote (1988–1996). His film credits include Ice Station Zebra (1968), Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) and Harper Valley P.T.A. (1978). He was also noted for extensive commercial work, including a long-running campaign for Vlasic pickles.
