Biography
Ronald Leamon is an American costume designer who has worked in film and television for over three decades. Born on 16 April 1954 in Streator, Illinois, he trained in acting and directing at the University of Central Florida, where he established the university’s costume shop and gained experience at Disney World. He later settled in the Seattle area and has contributed to numerous productions filmed in the Pacific Northwest.
Leamon’s credits include costume design on One False Move (1992), Smoke Signals (1998), Rose Red (2002) and Laggies (2014), as well as earlier work on Blue Velvet (1986). He has also served as costume supervisor or costumer on titles such as Prefontaine (1997) and Outside In (2018). In 2014 he received the Mayor’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film from the City of Seattle.
Leamon has advocated for the Northwest film industry and his designs have been exhibited at the Museum of History & Industry in Seattle and the Festival International Cinéma Costumes et Mode in Paris.
