Biography
Ross Duffer is an American writer, director and producer. With his identical twin brother Matt Duffer, he works professionally as the Duffer Brothers on all projects.
Born on 15 February 1984 in Durham, North Carolina, he graduated from Chapman University with a BFA. The brothers are best known as the creators, writers and directors of the Netflix series Stranger Things (2016–2025). They wrote and directed the film Hidden (2015) and wrote episodes of the series Wayward Pines (2015–2016).
Duffer provided the voice of Kwei's Ship Computer in the film Predator: Badlands (2025). The brothers founded the production company Upside Down Pictures.
