Biography
Roy Boyd (1938–2024) was an English actor whose career spanned nearly five decades, primarily in supporting roles on British television and in film.
Born Roy James Boyd on 18 August 1938 in Croydon, Surrey, he appeared in numerous television series from the 1960s onwards, including The Saint, Doctor Who, Space: 1999, The Professionals, Blake's 7 and New Tricks. His film credits include The Wicker Man (1973) as Broome, The Omen (1976) as a reporter, and A Bridge Too Far (1977) as a soldier. He also had a recurring role as Eddie Lee in the soap opera Crossroads from 1980 to 1983 and played Lord Drinian in the 1990 BBC adaptation of The Silver Chair.
Boyd was married to Zohra Sadou and had three children. He died on 27 April 2024.
