Biography

Royer was a costume designer. Born Lewis Royer Hastings on 17 May 1904 in Washington, District of Columbia, he died on 21 February 1988 in Orange, California.

He worked at 20th Century Fox from 1933 to 1939, designing costumes for In Old Chicago (1938) and other films including Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) and Jesse James (1939). He then spent two years at United Artists.

From 1942 to 1952 Royer worked in the Mexican film industry, often billed as Luis Royer or Louis Royer. He received an Ariel Award in 1945 for Bugambilia.
