Biography
Ruby Rae Spiegel is a writer for television and theatre. She contributed the teleplay for the third episode of the first season of the Netflix series Mindhunter (2017). Her other television writing credits include episodes of The OA (2016), A Teacher (2020) and Extrapolations (2023). She has also worked as a consulting producer on A Teacher and When They See Us (2019).
Spiegel is a playwright whose full-length play Dry Land premiered Off-Broadway at Colt Coeur. It has since been produced in multiple cities in the United States and internationally. Her earlier short play Carrie & Francine was staged at the Summer Shorts Festival at 59E59 when she was 18 and is published in an anthology. She is a Yale graduate, a MacDowell Colony Fellow and has participated in writers’ programmes including the Center Theater Group’s 2018/19 group.
