Biography
Rudolph G. Kopp (also credited as Rudolph Kopp or Rudy Kopp) was an Austrian-born American composer of film scores. Born in Vienna in 1887, he settled in the United States and performed as a member of the Brahms String Quintet in the Los Angeles area from 1910 to 1917 before entering the film industry in the early 1930s.
He worked as a staff composer and musical director for Paramount Pictures in the 1930s and later for MGM until the late 1950s. His credits include Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931), Shanghai Express (1932), One Hour with You (1932), The Sign of the Cross (1932), Cleopatra (1934), I'm No Angel (1933), Lady in the Lake (1946), Mystery Street (1950) and Vengeance Valley (1951). He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, in 1972.
