Biography
Ruth Platt is a British actress, writer and director. She studied English literature at University College, Oxford, and trained at RADA, leaving in her second year. She began her career as an actress, appearing in The Pianist (2002) as Janina Godlewska, as well as episodes of Relic Hunter (1999), Bad Girls (1999) and other television series.
Platt later moved into directing and writing. Her feature films include The Lesson (2015), The Black Forest (2019) and the BFI-supported Martyrs Lane (2021). She has directed an episode of Call the Midwife (2023) and episodes of Emmerdale. She has also worked in theatre, co-adapting and performing in productions with Eddie Marsan.
