Biography
Sam Means is an American comedy writer and producer. He won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work as a writer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Means wrote for the NBC series 30 Rock (2012–2013) and Parks and Recreation (2014). He also contributed to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Great News, Girls5eva and Mr. Mayor, and co-wrote special material for the Golden Globes and Academy Awards. With Robert Carlock he created the Netflix animated series Mulligan (2023–2024) and the NBC series The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (2026).
He holds an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an M.Phil. in philosophy from King's College, Cambridge. Means began his career as a cartoonist for The New Yorker and a contributing writer for The Onion.
