Biography
Sanaa McCoy Lathan is an American actress. She was born on 19 September 1971 in New York City, the daughter of actress Eleanor McCoy and film and television director Stan Lathan. She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in drama from Yale University.
Lathan's film roles include Vanessa Brooks in Blade (1998), Monica Wright in Love & Basketball (2000), Ann Merai Harrison in Out of Time (2003), Alexa Woods in AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004), and Aubrey Cheever in Contagion (2011). She has also appeared in The Best Man (1999), Brown Sugar (2002), Something New (2006), The Family That Preys (2008), The Perfect Guy (2015), Now You See Me 2 (2016) and American Assassin (2017).
On television she has had recurring roles in Succession (as Lisa Arthur) and other series, and received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work on Succession. Her stage work includes a Tony Award-nominated performance in the 2004 Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
