Biography
Sara Berner (born Lillian Ann Herdan; also credited as Sarah Berner) was an American actress and voice artist. She began her career in vaudeville and radio before working extensively in animation and live-action film and television. She trained in drama at the University of Tulsa.
Berner was known for dialect and character voices in numerous uncredited cartoon roles, including Jerry Mouse in Anchors Aweigh (1945) and parts in Red Hot Riding Hood (1943) and The Dover Boys at Pimento University (1942). Her live-action credits include the role of Woman on Fire Escape in Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window (1954). On radio she played Mabel Flapsaddle on The Jack Benny Program and starred in the short-lived NBC series Sara's Private Caper (1950).
