Biography
Sara Tanaka is an American physician and former actress. Born on 21 November 1978 in Huntington, New York, she began acting at the age of twelve and graduated from Brown University in 2000 with a degree in human biology.
Her film roles include Uni Kakamura in Race the Sun (1996), Margaret Yang in Rushmore (1998), Megan in Old School (2003), and Shelly Chan in Imaginary Heroes (2004). She also appeared in an episode of the television series Gideon's Crossing (2001) and provided a voice in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004).
Tanaka completed her MD at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago in 2008. She undertook residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology, and now practises as a cardiologist.
