Biography
Sarah Caplan was a television and film producer. She earned a B.A. in philosophy from Bedford College, University of London, and a master's degree in South East Asian studies from SOAS, University of London. She moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and joined the production company Bedford Falls, founded by Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz.
Her credits include associate producer on Glory (1989), co-producer on Legends of the Fall (1994) and producer on Dangerous Beauty (1998). On television she served as producer on Alias (2001–2005) and Lost (2004–2006), for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award. Later work encompassed Brothers & Sisters, Ray Donovan, Political Animals and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015–2019).
Caplan died on 30 April 2026.
