Biography
Sarah Lancashire is an English actress. She was born on 10 October 1964 in Oldham, Lancashire, and trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She first came to prominence playing Raquel Watts in the soap opera Coronation Street (1991–1996, 2000). Subsequent television roles include Clocking Off (2000), Last Tango in Halifax (2012–2020) and Happy Valley (2014–2023), in which she portrayed Catherine Cawood.
Lancashire has also appeared in feature films including Dad's Army (2016) and returned to the stage in productions such as Blood Brothers. She received an OBE in the 2017 Birthday Honours and a CBE in the 2025 New Year Honours for services to drama.
