Biography
Euros Lyn is a Welsh film and television director. Born in Cardiff in 1971, he was educated at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Ystalyfera and graduated with first-class honours in Drama from the University of Manchester. He began his career directing Welsh-language programmes for S4C before working as an assistant director.
Lyn is known for directing twelve episodes of Doctor Who (2005–2010), including several with David Tennant, one episode of Sherlock (2010), three episodes of Broadchurch (2013), the Black Mirror episode 'Fifteen Million Merits' (2011), and episodes of His Dark Materials (2019) and Heartstopper (2022). He has also directed the feature films The Library Suicides (2016), Dream Horse (2020) and The Radleys (2024).
He has won multiple BAFTA Cymru awards for Best Director, a Hugo Award for the Doctor Who episode 'The Girl in the Fireplace', and an International Emmy for Black Mirror. In 2015 he received the BAFTA Cymru Siân Phillips Award.
