Biography

Catherine Morshead is a British television director. She began her career in 1990, directing episodes of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, after working as a researcher on factual programmes and joining Yorkshire Television.

She has directed episodes of numerous British series, including Shameless (2006), Ashes to Ashes (2008–2009), Doctor Who (2010, the episodes "Amy's Choice" and "The Lodger"), Downton Abbey (2013–2014), The Hour (2012), No Offence (2015–2018) and Silent Witness. Later credits include Lockwood & Co. (2023), The Full Monty (2023) and Film Club (2025). She has received BAFTA Television Award nominations.
