Biography
Alice Troughton is a British film and television director. She studied drama at the University of Kent and began directing short films before entering television in 2002 with episodes of Doctors and EastEnders.
From 2006 she directed episodes of Torchwood, Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures, becoming only the second person to work across all three shared-universe series. She directed 13 episodes of Merlin (2009–2012) and has since worked on series including The Flash (2016), Lost in Space (2018) and A Discovery of Witches (2018). Her feature debut, The Lesson, premiered in 2023.
Troughton received a Royal Television Society Craft & Design Award nomination for directing on Cucumber (2015).
