Biography

Ashley Way is a Welsh television director. Born in Cardiff in 1971, he began his career as an assistant director before writing and directing episodes of Welsh productions including the series Belonging from 2005 and the 2003 telefilm Hoodlum & Son.

Way directed episodes of Torchwood (2006), including the series 1 finale, and returned for further instalments in series 2. He later directed two episodes of Doctor Who (2010) and four serials of The Sarah Jane Adventures, among them Death of the Doctor. His other credits include episodes of Merlin, Ripper Street, White Lines and Who Is Erin Carter? (2023). He has received BAFTA Cymru awards and nominations for his work.
