Biography
Sarah Selby (also credited as Sara Selby) was an American actress. She began her career as a radio performer and made her screen debut voicing Prissy the Elephant in the Disney animated film Dumbo (1941).
Selby worked primarily as a character actress in minor film and television roles, often portraying gossips, aunts or teachers. She appeared in films including Beyond the Forest (1949) and Tower of London (1962). On television she had recurring parts on The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show and as Ma Smalley on Gunsmoke (1955–1975), and played Aunt Gertrude in the 1956 Mickey Mouse Club serial The Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Applegate Treasure.
