Biography
Sean Porter is an American cinematographer. Born in Tacoma, Washington, he grew up in Gig Harbor and graduated from the University of Washington in 2004.
His credits include It Felt Like Love (2013), Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter (2014), Green Room (2015), 20th Century Women (2016), Rough Night (2017), Green Book (2018), The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2022), The Old Man (2022) and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (2024–2025). He served as cinematographer on I Play Rocky (2026).
Porter was named to Filmmaker magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” in 2014 and to Variety’s “10 Cinematographers to Watch” in 2015. He joined the American Society of Cinematographers in 2024 and received an ASC Award for his work on The Old Man.
