Biography
Seeta Indrani is a British actor, dancer and producer. Born on 20 April 1963 in London, she trained at the London Contemporary Dance School. She made her professional debut as Cassandra in the original 1981 West End production of Cats and went on to work with companies including the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Exchange and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Indrani is best known for playing WPC Norika Datta in the ITV series The Bill from 1989 to 1998. For the role she received the Asian Film Academy award for Best Supporting Actress in 1995 and Best Actress in 1996. She has also appeared in Doctors as Dr Lily Hassan and as Brenda Kiely in The Café.
Her later television credits include Harita in Catastrophe (2015–2019), Shirley Sagar in Secret Invasion (2023) and Miss Chand in The Larkins (2021–2022). She has also worked in film, including Transformers: The Last Knight (2017).
