Biography
Shane F. Kelly is a cinematographer. He has worked extensively with director Richard Linklater, serving as director of photography on A Scanner Darkly (2006), Everybody Wants Some!! (2016), Last Flag Flying (2017) and Hit Man (2024). On Boyhood (2014) he began as camera operator before taking over as cinematographer for the later sections of the production.
Kelly is from Sixmilecross, County Tyrone, in Northern Ireland. He graduated from the University of Ulster at Coleraine with a degree in multimedia and began his career in London before working as an editor in Seattle and then moving into camera work in Los Angeles. He has been based in Austin, Texas, for many years and has also shot music tours and television projects including episodes of Friday Night Lights.
