Biography
Shane Richie is a British actor, comedian, presenter and singer. Born Shane Patrick Paul Roche on 11 March 1964 in London, he began performing in youth theatre and worked as a bluecoat entertainer before moving into stand-up comedy and television presenting.
He is best known for playing Alfie Moon in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 2002, with multiple returns including in 2010–2016, 2018–2019 and from 2022. Richie voiced the character Sid in the animated film Flushed Away (2006) and has appeared in series including Skins (2007), Benidorm (2016–2018) and the spin-off Kat and Alfie: Redwater (2017). He has also performed in stage productions and pantomime.
