Biography
Sharon Tay is a Singaporean-American actress and former television news anchor and reporter. Born on 15 October 1966 in Singapore, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University.
Tay began her on-screen career in the 1990s with reporter roles in films including Independence Day (1996) and Hurlyburly (1998). She later appeared as a newscaster or news anchor in Eagle Eye (2008), The Pink Panther 2 (2009), Fast Five (2011) and as herself in Nightcrawler (2014). She has also had guest roles in television series such as True Blood, NCIS: Los Angeles and S.W.A.T..
Tay worked as a morning news anchor for KTLA and KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles and received five Emmy Awards and three Associated Press Awards during her journalism career. She later became a real estate agent.
