Biography
Sheila Hockin is a Canadian television producer. She began her career as a production coordinator on the 1981 film The Pit and later worked as Senior Director of Broadcast Communications for the CBC. She was a partner at Temple Street Productions from 1998 to 2006.
Hockin produced five seasons of the Showtime series Queer as Folk (2000–2005). She served as executive producer on The Tudors (2007–2010), The Borgias (2011–2013) and Vikings (2013–2020), and as producer on Penny Dreadful (2014–2016) and Halo (2022). She has been executive producer on The Handmaid's Tale (2017–2025) and Vikings: Valhalla (2022–2024).
Her awards include a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for The Handmaid's Tale, a Golden Globe, Producers Guild of America Award, multiple Canadian Screen Awards and the WIFT Award of Distinction. In 2018 she received the Canadian Award of Distinction at the Banff World Media Festival.
