Biography
Shin'ichi Fushima (also credited as Shinichi Fushima or 普嶋信一) is a Japanese film editor. He graduated from Nikkatsu Art College and began working as an assistant editor in 1984 on Tokimeki ni Shisu. He made his debut as editor in 1993 on Crepe and has also contributed to special-effects editing, including on the Heisei Gamera series.
Fushima has edited numerous feature films and television dramas. He is a frequent collaborator with directors Kenji Uchida and Naoko Ogigami. Among his credits are the Millennium-era Godzilla films Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000), Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002) and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003), as well as Kamome Diner (2006), Key of Life (2012), The Great Passage (2013) and entries in the Midnight Diner series.
He has received several Japan Academy Prize nominations and awards for editing, including the best editing prize for The Great Passage.
