Biography
Shira Haas is an Israeli actress. She trained at the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts in Tel Aviv.
Haas rose to prominence in Israel with her role as Ruchama Weiss in the television series Shtisel (2013–2021). She received Ophir Award nominations for her performances in Foxtrot (2017) and Broken Mirrors (2018), and won the award for Best Supporting Actress for Noble Savage (2018) and for Asia (2020).
Her international breakthrough came with the role of Esther Shapiro in the Netflix miniseries Unorthodox (2020), for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She has also appeared in the films The Zookeeper's Wife (2017), Mary Magdalene (2018) and A Tale of Love and Darkness (2015), and in the series Bodies (2023).
