Biography
Shobu Kapoor is a British actress. She trained at Drama Studio London after earning a Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Mumbai in 1986 and moving to the United Kingdom in 1988.
She is best known for playing Gita Kapoor in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 1993 to 1998. Her other screen credits include Polly in the film Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Mrs Khan in the sitcom Citizen Khan (2012–2016), Seema in We Are Lady Parts (2021–2024), Lady Sheffield in Bridgerton (2022) and Fatima in the film Polite Society (2023). She has also appeared in numerous theatre productions.
