Biography
Silvia Pinal was a Mexican actress. She played the title role in Luis Buñuel’s Viridiana (1961) and Leticia ‘La Valkiria’ in his The Exterminating Angel (1962). She also appeared in his Simon of the Desert (1965).
Pinal was one of the leading figures of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and had a career spanning film, theatre and television, including telenovelas such as Una familia de diez (2007). She died on 28 November 2024.
