Biography
Simon Hynd is a British television and film director. He began his career writing and directing short films, including the thriller Virus and the comedy Tumshie McFadgen's Bid for Ultimate Bliss, the latter of which won a BAFTA Scotland award for best short film. He also wrote and directed the feature film Senseless (2008).
Hynd has directed episodes of several British comedy series, including Ghosts (2019–2023), Motherland (2020–2022), There She Goes (2018–2020), The Cockfields (2021) and Mammoth (2024). He is the director of the comedy-drama series Death Valley (2025–), starring Timothy Spall. His work has earned BAFTA and Royal Television Society awards and nominations.
