Biography
Simon Shepherd is an English actor. Born in Bristol in 1956, he trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Manchester Metropolitan University, and was a member of the National Youth Theatre.
He has appeared in numerous television series and films. Notable credits include Henry V (1989) as Duke Humphrey of Gloucester, Wuthering Heights (1992) as Edgar Linton, Spice World (1997) as a doctor, Rogue Trader (1999) as Peter Norris, and Mothering Sunday (2021) as Giles Hobday. On television he has played roles in Agatha Christie's Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, Father Brown and Alex Rider (2020). He is also known for his long-running role as Dr Will Preston in Peak Practice and appearances in Casualty.
Shepherd has been married to costume designer Alexandra Byrne since 1980; they have four children.
