Biography
Simone Kirby is an Irish actress born on 28 October 1976. She began her career in Irish theatre and gained early recognition for her role as Geraldine Grehan in the RTÉ series Pure Mule (2005) and its follow-up Pure Mule: The Last Weekend (2009).
Kirby has appeared in numerous films and television series, including Jimmy's Hall (2014) as Oonagh, Peaky Blinders (2014) as Irene O'Donnell, His Dark Materials (2019–2022) as Mary Malone, and Kneecap (2024) as Dolores. Other credits include Season of the Witch (2011), Notes on Blindness (2016), The Hole in the Ground (2019), Calm with Horses (2020), Dating Amber (2020) and Artemis Fowl (2020).
She has performed extensively on stage with companies and venues including the Abbey Theatre, Druid Theatre Company, the Old Vic and Shakespeare's Globe. Kirby has received several Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) award nominations for her screen work.
