Biography
Sophia Lin is an American film producer. She grew up in Livingston, New Jersey, and studied film and television at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Lin began her career as a script supervisor on Girls Town (1996) and worked as a production manager on projects including the second season of Strangers with Candy (2000), The Business of Strangers (2001) and Party Monster (2003). Her work on All the Real Girls (2003) led to further opportunities in the industry.
She produced Take Shelter (2011) with Tyler Davidson and won the Film Independent Spirit Awards’ Piaget Producers Award for the film. Lin also produced Compliance (2012) and Z for Zachariah (2015), and has served as executive producer on titles including Camp X-Ray (2014) and Causeway (2022). In 2011 she was named one of Variety’s “10 Producers to Watch”.
