Biography
Søren Stærmose is a Danish film and television producer. Born on 20 April 1952 in Odense, he holds a cand.mag. degree in literature and film from the University of Copenhagen. He began producing documentaries and short films in 1985 and made his feature debut as producer on Christian (1989).
Stærmose is best known for his work with the Swedish production company Yellow Bird on adaptations of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium novels. He produced the Swedish-language films The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009) and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest (2009), as well as the English-language remake The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and later entries in the series. He has also produced television series including Wallander (2005) and The Truth Will Out (2018).
