Biography

Stanley Blystone was an American film actor. Born William Stanley Blystone on 1 August 1894 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, he appeared in more than 500 films between 1924 and 1956. He died on 16 July 1956 in Hollywood, California.

Blystone is known for his role as the Gamin's Father in Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times (1936). He appeared in numerous short films starring the Three Stooges, including Half Shot Shooters (1936), False Alarms (1936), Goofs and Saddles (1937), Three Little Twirps (1943) and Slaphappy Sleuths (1950), with his final appearance alongside the trio in Of Cash and Hash (1955). He also featured in several Laurel and Hardy films. Blystone was the brother of film director John G. Blystone.
