Biography
Steve Ackroyd is a British television editor. He began his career editing commercials for the BBC before joining the London edit house Final Cut, where he worked on projects for broadcasters including ITV, MTV and Channel 4, as well as music videos and advertising campaigns.
In 2015 he moved into long-form television, serving as sole editor on all episodes of the first three series of the Channel 4 comedy Catastrophe (2015–2017), directed by Ben Taylor. He has since edited multiple episodes of the Netflix series Sex Education (2019–2023) across its first four seasons. Other credits include episodes of Truth Seekers (2020), Frank of Ireland (2021) and Hang Ups (2018).
Ackroyd received the British Film Editors Cut Above Award for Best Edited Series: Comedy (shared) for Sex Education season 3 in 2022, and has been nominated for RTS Craft & Design Awards for editing in entertainment and comedy.
