Biography
Steve John Shepherd is an English actor. He was born on 1 August 1973 in Plaistow, London, and grew up in the East End of London and then Essex. He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Shepherd first became known for playing Jo in the BBC drama series This Life (1996–1997). He later appeared in films including Virtual Sexuality (1999), Me Without You (2001), From Hell (2001), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), Layer Cake (2004) and 7 Days in Entebbe (2018). On television he played Michael Moon in the soap opera EastEnders (2010–2013), Carl in Being Human (2010) and DI Simon Lees in Karen Pirie (2022). He is married to actress Anna Wilson-Jones.
