Biography
Steve Oedekerk is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and writer on the television series In Living Color (1990–1994), where he collaborated with Jim Carrey.
Oedekerk wrote the screenplay for Bruce Almighty (2003). His other screenwriting credits include Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995), The Nutty Professor (1996), Patch Adams (1998), Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001) and Evan Almighty (2007). He also wrote the story for Cowboys & Aliens (2011). He directed Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (2002) and Barnyard (2006). Oedekerk received an Academy Award nomination for best animated feature for Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
